Nora Ephron had a great title for her book of essays - "I Remember Nothing."

But some things should be easy to remember. Namely, your LinkedIn profile.

You can set up a shortcut or custom URL. Here's mine: http://linkedin.com/in/LaurieKretchmar

Unless somebody's already claimed it, yours can be http://linkedin.com/in/YourName - You might need to add a middle initial or make some other modification if your name is already taken.

Here's how to create your easy-to-memorize custom URL:
Log in to LinkedIn.com (if you can remember your password).
Click the "Me" icon.
Click "View profile."
Click "Edit public profile & URL" on the right.
Under "Edit your custom URL," click the Edit icon (the pencil) next to your public profile.
Type the past part of your new custom URL in the text box. Proofread!
Click "Save."

Voila.
